In order to make my point clearer I must use a verbal message which is a phrase that will hopefully grab the attention of the viewers and give them something to think about. The image above is a quote by Banksy which I found to be the most interesting and relevant to my topic. Some Messages That I Made Up.1. Why is graffiti shocking, yet it changes nothing?
2. When you look at graffiti try to grasp the message within, it might open your eyes. 3. Not all graffiti is vandalism, some might just change the world. 4. Graffiti is just another way to get one’s message through.

TextureWe had to investigate various different textures that are part of our subject. I decided that since graffiti is most commonly painted on walls I took photo of walls from a close range to capture the rough edges of each different texture. In my opinion this would help me explore the possible backgrounds that graffiti could be used on and could be a great asset for leaflets and posters. TypographyIn order to write a message, one must choose an appropriate typeface that captures the theme and mood of the subject. The Fonts below are such examples that will be used for my project. Our lecturer suggested the site www.fontshop.com/ which has many professional fonts. Despite the site having a variety of choices it did not satisfy my needs. I had to turn to other sources like www.dafont.com/ The BrainstormingThis is a process which involves the listing of one's ideas. I made a list of the way that I will go about doing my work. This is a hierarchy of how I will work. I will find this work very useful while working on the final products. The SketchingI found it difficult to make sketches regarding my subject. I had no idea what to sketch in order to raise awareness about the good graffiti. (Good graffiti is a term I use for graffiti that is made to raise awareness about everyday issues). |
